Qualified Domestic Institutional Investors
Qualified Domestic Institutional Investors(QDII) is an investment scheme that works opposite the QFII (Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor). It is a scheme under which domestic institutional investors authorized by the government could invest in the overseas capital markets under the foreign exchange control system in China.
Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor
Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor(QFII) program, as a provision for foreign capital to access China’s financial markets, was introduced by the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) and the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) on November 5, 2002. QFII is a Chinese brokerage business, which allows qualified foreign institutions to trade Chinese A-shares via special accounts opened at designated custodian banks, for their clients.
