Selection Criteria

Constituents of the Hang Seng Composite Index which derive the majority of their sales revenue from Hong Kong or places outside mainland China.

Selection Criteria

Top 15 stocks by market capitalization in the Hang Seng Hong Kong Composite Index.

Hang Seng HK MidCap Index
Selection Criteria

Companies ranked 16th to 50th in the Hang Seng Hong Kong Composite Index by market capitalization.

Hang Seng HK SmallCap Index
Selection Criteria

Companies ranked 51st and below in the Hang Seng Hong Kong Composite Index by market capitalization.

Hang Seng Mainland Composite Index
Selection Criteria

Constituents of the Hang Seng Composite Index which derive at least 50% of their sales revenue from mainland China.

Hang Seng China-Affiliated Corporations Index
Selection Criteria

  • Non-H-shares in the Hang Seng Mainland Composite Index; and
  • At least 30% shareholding directly held by either: i. Mainland entities that include state-owned organisations, provincial or municipal authorities in mainland China; or ii. Companies which are controlled by Mainland entities as in (i) above.

Hang Seng Composite Indexes - Industry Indexes
The Hang Seng Composite Industry Indexes cover Energy, Materials, Industrial Goods, Consumer Goods, Services, Telecommunications, Utilities, Financials, Properties & Construction, Information Technology and Conglomerates.

Selection Criteria
The 200 constituent stocks are assigned to an industry which the industry definition can fit most closely to describe their major business.

Hang Seng Freefloat Index Series
The Hang Seng Freefloat Index Series (HSFI Series) is aimed at meeting the demand for an alternative market benchmark that takes into account long-term strategic holdings not readily available for trading in the market.

The HSFI Series adopts a freefloat-adjusted market capitalisation weighting methodology with a 15% capping on the weightings of individual stocks.

The HSFI Series has six indexes:

The Master Indexes: The three master indexes have the same constituents as the corresponding Hang Seng Composite Index Series (Geographical Series).
