Huang Ju (黄菊), male, Han nationality is a Vice Premier of the People's Republic of China, who is ranked 6th out of 9 in the Politburo Standing Committee of Communist Party of China.
Huang Ju (黄菊) was born in Jiashan, Zhejiang Province(浙江省嘉善市), in September, 1939. Huang Ju (黄菊) began work in May 1963 and joined the Communist Party of China in March 1966. He graduated from the Department of Electrical Machinery Engineering of Tsinghua University (). And then, Huang Ju (黄菊) went to Shanghai for work. In Shanghai he worked first in heavy industry, then petrochemicals.
Huang became mayor of Shanghai in 1991 and then city's Party chief in 1994, which he served until October 2002. Huang Ju (黄菊) was an alternate member of the 13th CPC Central Committee and a member of the 14th and 15th CPC Central Committees. At the Fourth Plenary Session of the 14th CPC Central Committee, he was elected an additional member of the Politburo. He was a member of the Politburo of the 15th CPC Central Committee and a member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the 16th CPC Central Committee.
