Wu Guanzheng ( 吴官正 ), male, Han nationality, is the Member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the 16th CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline.

Wu Guanzheng ( 吴官正 ) was born in Yugan City, Jiangxi Province ( 江西省余干市 ), China in Mar., 1938. He joined the CPC in March 1962 and entered the workforce in April 1968. Wu Guanzheng ( 吴官正 ) graduated with a specialty in thermal measurement and automatic controls from the Power Department of Tsinghua University. He is a postgraduate and an engineer.

Wu Guanzheng's early career was spent in Wuhan, Hubei Province in a series of science and technology positions. In the mid 1980s, Wu Guanzheng ( 吴官正 ) was secretary of the CPC Wuhan Municipal Committee and Mayor of Wuhan. Later he moved to JiangxiProvince where he became secretary of the CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee and Governor of the Province.

Wu Guanzheng ( 吴官正 ) was an alternate member of the 12th CPC Central Committee, a member of the 13th, 14th and 15th CPC Central Committees and a member of the Politburo of the 15th CPC Central Committee.

Wu Guanzheng ( 吴官正 ) is currently a member of the 16th CPC Central Committee and a member of the Politburo Standing Committee. He is also Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.
